CÁCERES

In the old center of Cáceres we notice the constant presence of the old history. The origin of the city dates back to the Palaeolíthic. The Romans, in 34 b.C., by the hand of Caio Norbano Flacco, founded the city and gave it the name of Norba Caesarina.

The city will reach the maximum splendor  coinciding with the discover of America. Many palaces were built by families of aristocrats and stuffed with treasures coming from the other side of the Atlantic ocean.

In Cáceres we may see the most impressive monumental group of construtions made by Romans. A visit to Cáceres is indispensable and unforgettable.

The "Plaza de San Mateo" and the "Plaza de Santa Maria" are two places you will not forget. In the first one the church of San Mateo, built between the 14th and 18th  centuries. You still have to admire the palace of the Ulloa, the convent of San Pablo, "Casa del Sol", "Casa Mudéjar" and the "Casa de los Golfines de Arriba". In the plaza of Saint Maria, the church of the same name, a Gothic building of 15th century.
